Yesterday Vince, Melissa, and Chris went to a lovely little gem in Luna Park. This gem is Duos Lounge.
The restaurant is very comfy and quaint with a mix of love seats, sofas, and chairs throughout. They also offer outside seating and live music. During the soft opening, the last time I was there I was told by William Yee, one of the founding chefs, that they plan on having little hooks so people can bring their four pawed best friends with them while they enjoy a meal. I am really excited for this so that Vince and I can walk Dino at Alki and then come to Duos Lounge for a quick snack and refreshing beverages.
Duos Lounge serves portions similar to a tapas bar. The food was deliciously tantalizing. The Tataki Beef Wagyu was one of my favorites of the night--it had incredible flavor and it melted in your mouth. Vince loved the scallops as they where plump, juicy, and well seasoned. The scallops were complemented well by the corn chowder it was paired with. And their drink the "pink diamond" was luscious and is my go to drink when I am there. As they say diamonds are a girls best friend ;)
The wait staff is incredibly friendly, however...

they left a little to be desired. There were some awkward moments where the waiter would stand by us like he expected us to order--but how can we order dessert when you never gave us a menu??? In general there was a lot of waiting for the waiter. At one point when the waiter found out Will was my cousin (yes that's right...did I forget to mention Chef Yee is my cousin?? Well he is...now if only his dessert making skills ran in the family...) he [the waiter] apologized for his sub-par service and said "if i had known you were family i would of given you better service....hopefully it wasn't too bad". I would think they should give everyone exemplary service whether they are family or not. But i do not hold it against them. It was a Wednesday night and there only seemed to be one waiter. It would of been hard for even a seasoned waiter, as they were fairly busy. And in the end the food outshone the service and made the inattentive service more than tolerable.
I will be back to try their new brunch menu as I am always looking for good brunch spots....maybe Dino can come by then. Overall their food has never disappointed.

Disclaimers:
- Chef William Yee is my cousin---and even if he wasn't related to me I would still leave the same review. The food is wonderful and a must try!
- I apologize for the low quality images of the food as they were taken with my iPhone.
